At your first Pelvic Health Osteopathic consultation you can expect a thorough case history, evaluation and assessment. This will include questions relating directly to your individual complaint but also regarding your overall health. This will help your Osteopath determine the cause of your complaint. Your Osteopath will then discuss this with you and discuss various treatment and/ or management options. When appropriate, osteopathic treatment will be performed within the initial consultation, this may involve internal assessment where indicated and supported.  Initial Pelvic Health consultations are 60 minutes in duration.

Kate graduated from Victoria University in 2010 after completing her Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy). Kate has a particular interest in treating women, having completed further study in Paediatrics and Obstetrics. Kate’s interest in treating women began early in her Osteopathic career following the completion of her Masters Research where she investigated the effect of Osteopathic treatment on period pain.

Kate has completed extensive post graduate study in providing Osteopathy to pre and post partum women and those suffering from pelvic health complaints.

Kate is one of the few Osteopaths in Melbourne who have further training in the assessment and management of the pelvic floor.

Kate is also a mother of two beautiful children and has been so fortunate to nurture two little humans, however, there have been some bumps in the road during and following her pregnancies. This experience has solidified her passion and desire to support women through their own lives and stories – be it through pregnancy, post partum or pelvic pain/ health presentations.

Kate is an Osteopath who has further training in the assessment and management of the pelvic floor, including internal assessment and techniques when appropriate.

Dr. Danielle Tjahjana (Osteopath) graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy).

Dani has a keen interest in women’s health, having completed further professional development through the Osteopathic Pelvic Health Institute that allows her to treat a range of women’s conditions including pelvic pain, incontinence & bladder complaints as well as provide pre and postnatal care. This includes birth preparation techniques as well as the six week postnatal check-up. Furthermore she is able to provide internal pelvic health assessments and treatments.

Dani’s interest and passion for women’s health grew when she fell pregnant with her daughter Aria. Although a generally easy pregnancy, it was during the peak of COVID lockdowns and access to care, including during the postnatal period, was challenging. She believes in providing a holistic experience for her patients and wants to support them on their own journey through pregnancy and postpartum care. She is now a mother of two beautiful children.

She utilises the biopsychosocial model to approach each patient individually, ensuring that all aspects of that persons life are taken into consideration when devising a suitable management plan.
